What Safe + Fair is free from

Safe + Fair makes allergen-free snacks for families managing food allergies. Our granola, drizzled popcorn, baking mixes, and chips are free from all top 9 major allergens: peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, wheat, milk, soy, fish, shellfish, and sesame. Remy's Grahams are the one exception, and we explain that below.

Every batch is tested before it ships

We third-party test every batch for all top 9 allergens plus coconut and Brazil nut. Testing happens before release. No batch reaches a consumer until it has passed.

That order matters. A dedicated facility is a process control, which tells you how the food was made. Batch testing tells you what is actually in the food you are about to open. We do both wherever we can, and where a line runs in a shared facility we say so plainly and let the testing carry the claim.

Product line by product line

Granola. Free from all top 9 allergens. Made in a top-9-allergen-free facility. Vegan, with certified gluten-free oats. Our Organic Cookie Dough and Organic Strawberry Shortcake are also USDA organic and made without seed oils.

Baking mixes. Free from all top 9 allergens. Made in a top-9-allergen-free facility.

Drizzled and savory popcorn. Free from all top 9 allergens, verified by third-party testing on every batch. Made in a shared facility that also handles milk, sesame, wheat, and soy, under good manufacturing practices to minimize cross contact. We disclose the shared facility because you deserve the full picture, and we test every batch because disclosure by itself is not enough.

Chips. Free from all top 9 allergens, verified by third-party testing on every batch. Made in a shared facility that also handles milk, wheat, sesame, and soy, under good manufacturing practices.

Remy's Grahams (cinnamon and honey). Peanut-free and tree-nut-free, baked in a facility free of peanuts and tree nuts. Remy's is not top-9-free. The facility handles egg and milk. We could market Remy's under our broader allergen-free banner and most people would never check. We do not, because a parent reading a label at 9pm needs the real answer.

Kids protein powder. Made in a facility that also handles milk, egg, and soy, under good manufacturing practices.

Questions we get asked

Is Safe + Fair popcorn safe for a nut allergy?

Yes. Our drizzled and savory popcorn is free from all top 9 allergens, including peanuts and tree nuts, and every batch is third-party tested before release. The facility also handles milk, sesame, wheat, and soy, so if you are managing one of those four, read the disclosure above and talk to your allergist.

What does shared facility mean for my child?

It means other products made in that building contain those allergens. It does not mean our product contains them. We verify that with third-party testing on every batch before it ships. Families who need a dedicated facility for a specific allergen should look at our granola and baking mixes, which run in a top-9-allergen-free facility.

Are Remy's Grahams top 9 free?

No. Remy's Grahams are peanut-free and tree-nut-free only. The facility handles egg and milk.

What allergens do you test for?

All top 9 (peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, wheat, milk, soy, fish, shellfish, sesame) plus coconut and Brazil nut.
